Recently, Long Island web design and marketing agency TiedIn Media, launched the newly designed website for The Carltun, a catering and event hall on Long Island. The Carltun’s original website was very outdated, lacked functionality, and did not include important information that site visitors would be hoping to find when on the website. We gave them an updated website that reflected their current style and gave site visitors enough information to keep them on the website for longer.
The old website’s slider used pixelated imagery, which had no information on it. Additionally, the navigation was unorganized and made finding information such as menus for the restaurant difficult, specifically for older visitors who have difficulty seeing the text on a screen. The homepage of the old website contained minimal to no content, which is essential considering The Carltun offers many events to the public as well as their wedding packages and restaurant.
To fix the issues that existed on The Carltun’s original website, we gave them a new homepage with more information, we added and updated the inner pages as well, and added a disability feature that allows people with vision impairments navigate the website easily. The new main slider gives site visitors a little more information about what The Carltun is while large image buttons below offer easy navigation to their important pages such as their restaurant so people can easily find their menus. Guests can also easily inquire about wedding options as well as private affairs using these buttons. Further down the homepage, the site visitors will find the upcoming events that The Carltun is offering, this keeps their current clientele updated on any new events.
Overall, the new website creates a seamless user experience for site visitors and ensures that they can find the information they need in order to become a client of The Carltun. Visit www.thecarltun.com to experience the full site!
